Help our cause by contributing to our fundraising efforts.

No act of generosity is too small to make a difference.

Dear Anderson Friends and Family,

Welcome to our Annual Spring Auction, Hollywood Nights!

As we gather to celebrate Anderson's 28th annual event, we do so with so much gratitude. We are tremendously grateful that our children have been given the opportunity to go to such an amazing school with such a deeply dedicated staff, tireless administration and incredibly devoted parent community.

Mostly though, we are so grateful to be a part of an event that is truly special, an event that unites our unique five-borough community in celebration and support of our remarkable school.

We are truly blown away by the dedication and commitment of all the parent volunteers who not only assist with Auction, but who show up time and time again for various school events throughout the year. Thank you for the countless hours and endless energy you have put in to make this event and all our other events such a success.

Tonight we come together as a community to do something special for our kids...to ensure they continue to receive the programs and tools they need to thrive.

A special thank you to the parents and teachers who created the extraordinary class projects and to all the business and parent donors who contributed and solicited the exceptional array of donations this year.

On behalf of the entire Auction Team, we invite you to shop, eat, drink, dance, and have a blast. Most importantly - bid wildly for our kids!

Gratefully Yours,
The Anderson Auction Team 2020

AUCTION 101: What does it all mean?

  • Silent Auction

There are four Silent Auctions. Each one closes at a different time during the evening (See Auction Close Schedule). To place a bid in the Silent Auction, simply log on to www.andersonschool.givesmart.com from your smartphone, click on an item you want to bid on, enter your information including your bidder paddle number, and click "Bid.".  The bid amount will pre-populate with the next minimum bid.

  • Live Auction

This is the MAIN EVENT. Our Auctioneer will begin the LIVE portion at 8:15pm. Grab your paddle and a seat. RAISE YOUR PADDLE to bid on awesome items!

  • Paddle Raiser
During the LIVE Auction, the Auctioneer will ask you to raise your paddles to contribute specific dollar amounts that will go towards continuing all the amazing enrichment programs we have at Anderson.

  • Sign-Ups
Sign up for a fun-filled event hosted by an Anderson family (or friend). These have limited spaces, so consider signing up for those first, as they may sell out quickly.

  • Instant Items
Want to buy gift certificates for services, restaurants, lessons, entertainment and more at discounted prices? Then be sure to visit Instant Items. Unlike Silent Auction items, Instant Items are sold on a first-come, first-served basis for a set price, so get there early!

  • Giving Tree
In the spirit of giving, please also consider a small donation to our District 3 community schools. Your gift will greatly impact their students, faculty and administration in support of much needed items and school supplies. Thank you for your generosity!

  • $100 Raffle
We can only sell (100) $100 raffle tickets so get yours while they last. The winner of the raffle will have the opportunity to pick any LIVE or Silent Auction item of their choosing!

Good Luck! Bid high, bid often!

SILENT & LIVE INFO

Silent Auctions
Bidder paddle numbers are required for the Silent Auctions which you will receive at the registration table. There will be four staggered closes of the Silent Auctions between 7:15pm and 8:00pm, prior to the Live Auction, so please LISTEN for the announcements!

To bid on an item, go to the auction link on your smartphone and place your bid using your bidder paddle number. Once a Silent Auction closes, no further bids will be honored. In case of a dispute, the Auction Committee will make the final decision. In the event an item has no bids, or a package open to multiple bidders is not completely sold, the Auction Committee reserves the right to keep that package open for bidding.

Live Auction
Bidder paddles are required for participation in the Live Auction and are available at the registration table. The highest bidder for any item shall be deemed the winner. In the event of a dispute among Live Auction bidders, the Auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and re-sell the item in question.

All bids are binding. By placing a bid, the bidder is agreeing to pay the price at the time of the bid. Winning bidders are responsible for paying for and picking up their items on the night of the event. Winning bidders must pay in full using their Express Pay credit card, registered at check-in.

For unique items that may accommodate several couples or families, should you wish to split the winning bid between more than one bidder, please approach the Auction Office prior to the close of the Live Auction, and we will be happy to divide the winning bid among multiple bidders.

Bid High... and Have Fun! Thanks So Much For Your Generosity.
Remember to return your paddle at the close of the Live Auction or you will be charged a $15 fee. Please enjoy desserts and dancing at the close of the Live Auction while you wait patiently for check-out to begin.

AUCTION RULES & CONDITIONS OF SALE

Check-In & Registration
All guests must check in, receive a bidder number, and swipe their credit card (even if you paid for your ticket in advance online). Your credit card will only be charged if you are a winning bidder or make any purchases. By presenting and swiping your credit card at Registration, you will have express checkout and agree to pay the amounts associated with your purchases. Credit cards and checks are both accepted.

Bidder Numbers
Use your bidder number to make purchases at the Live Auction, Silent Auctions, Sign-ups, Instant Items, and any other On-Sale areas, including Class Projects and Giving Tree.

Bidding in Absentia
Can't make it to the Auction? You can still participate. Email [email protected] if you are interested in bidding in absentia during the Live or Silent Auctions.

Splitting Packages with Friends
Some packages in the Live and Silent Auctions are suitable for group bids. Coordinate with your friends in advance and designate ONE person to bid on the group's behalf. If you desire, the winning price paid can then be split among the bidders. Just notify the registration desk if you wish to split a package and the winning bid will be split and allocated on each group bidder's receipt.

"Green" Paddles
Our reusable paddles MUST be turned in at the end of the evening or you will incur a $15 charge.

Check-Out and Item Pickup
Check-out will open approximately 30 minutes after the Live Auction ends. Simply pick up your invoice and go directly to Item Pickup. You must check out and collect your winnings. If you need to leave early, we will do our best to accommodate you, but you must email [email protected] after the auction to receive a copy of your final receipt.

The Auction Committee requires that all items be taken by successful bidders on the night of the Auction. Any items that have not been claimed by Wednesday, April 15, 2020 will be deemed donated to the PTA. Payment is expected in full on Saturday, March 7, 2020 by credit card or check.

All sales are final and subject to the terms and conditions stipulated by the donors and printed on certificates. Unless otherwise specified, all items have been donated to The Parents of P.S.334, Inc., and are sold by it and not by the donor. The stated values of all services and items have been provided by the donors themselves. Purchasers may not ask for refunds or exchanges from donors. Unless otherwise specified, certificates for items or services are valid for one year from the date of our event. Unless noted, restaurant gift certificates and services do not include gratuities. Items may not be re-sold or re-auctioned. Restrictions and blackout dates may apply, and tickets may be subject to availability.

THE FINE PRINT
This auction is conducted by The Parents of P.S.334, Inc., (The Anderson School PTA) solely for the benefit of P.S.334, The Anderson School, in New York City. The Parents of P.S. 334, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation tax ID 59-3826166. All items sold, raffled, given away, or otherwise conveyed as part of this Auction are the property of The Parents of P.S.334, Inc., unless otherwise specified. Neither The Anderson School nor the PTA is responsible or liable for this event. Every reasonable effort has been made to describe each item correctly, but all items are sold "where is" and "as is" and without warranty or representation of any kind as to the correctness of description, authenticity, conditions, or quality of fitness for any purpose. Any item linked to an external website is linked for descriptive and explanatory purposes only and makes no representation or warranty that the packaged item is indeed of the same likeness as any item displayed in an external link. Any item not bid to a satisfactory price may be withdrawn at the option of the Auctioneer. The highest bidder for Live Auction items shall be deemed the winner. In the event of a dispute among Live Auction bidders, the Auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and re-sell the package in question. Unless otherwise specified, all Auction items must be redeemed from merchants within one year of this event. Where applicable, dates and times are to be arranged at the mutual convenience of donor and buyer. Successful bidders who have purchased services or vacation homes donated by Anderson parents should make preliminary contact with the donor within four weeks of this event. It will be the responsibility of winning bidders to ensure that there is no damage done to private homes donated by friends and parents of The Anderson School. Please take the opportunity to thank each donor when using certificates. We rely on the goodwill of donors and merchants to make the auction a success each year, and we will be soliciting from them again. If they have gained a new customer, they're more likely to donate again. By participating in this Auction, each bidder recognizes and agrees that The Parents of P.S. 334, Inc., the PTA, and/or any person assisting with the Auction shall not be liable for any occurrence resulting from the use of auctioned items and services.

Tax-Deductibility of Purchases
On your check-out receipt, estimated values will be printed, along with the price paid. Items indicated as "Priceless" may (or may not) print with a value on your receipt, so please be aware that while some "priceless experiences" are attached to some tangible value, others are not. For tax-deductibility information, please check with your personal tax advisor.
